“The Smart Bed” is a pressure neutralizing bed using Flexpoint Bend Sensor® Technology.

Thanks to the Flexpoint Bend Sensor® Technology, “The Smart Bed” has the ability to precisely identify areas of the body where high pressure skin contact to the mattress is most vulnerable.

You may ask yourself, how is “The Smart Bed” able to identify where the body is?  The answer being that “The Smart Bed” identifies where the body is by having the Flexpoint Bend Sensor® Technology measure minute change in surface deflection.  In other words, when the bend sensor is bent by the actual weight of the person lying on the bed, it triggers a response and tells the control unit that there is deflection in that exact location.  The control unit then increases or decreases air pressure accordingly.
